Stupid Rules

Rules are meant to be followed and abided by. But if unreasonable rules are implemented, should we still abide by them? Let's quote a perfect example. How would you react if you received an sms saying:"Please remember my house rules about shutting off your handphones by 11pm. May i remind you that i have records from Singtel which phone numbers you sent smses to and at what time. Failure to abide by my rules and you will find your SIM card terminated without warning. Thx."
So after reading this sms, how would you feel? And it's an sms sent by my dad for no apparent reason. I'm at home when he randomly sent me this sms although i didn't anger him at all. I understand that from his standpoint, he doesn't want me to sms throughout the night and have a lack of sleep. But at the same time, doesn't he realise that i'm not doing that and he's exerting a little too much control over my life in some sense? I've had enough of his overexerted control. From phone checks, sms raids, to countless laptop virus scans and numerous website trackers. I wonder when will all these stop and i wonder when will he stop getting so paranoid over stuff.
