During the first two confinement weeks, I slowly learned to adapt to the rigid military life. I also forged friendships with wonderful people from different walks of life. As I was enrolled under the PTP batch, the first two months were spent doing physical training to toughen us up. The subsequent two months focused more on combat fitness, also known as soldiering skills. The defining moment throughout my BMT would be my field camp. The 5 days and 4 nights were the toughest time during the four months in BMT. It is during this period of distress and torment that you see who your true friends are, who the helpful ones are, and who the selfish ones are. During this period of field camp, we go through a realistic soldier life; living in the jungle, eating combat rations, and not being able to bathe. It was after the field camp that I felt we were truly soldiers.
Now that I am just 13 days away from my Passing Out Parade, I would like to say that I have learnt to become more independent to wash my own clothes and tidy up my own area. I have also forged bonds of brotherhood with friends I met in BMT. I am glad that I have come thus far and I will definitely miss my awesome BMT experience after I pass out!
So yea, i cant wait for the 8th of April where i would spend the night marching 24km to the floating platform at Marina Bay and POP on the 9th of April! Times flies man, it really does.
